A review desk that reads the receipt
Verdict & Value is an independent UK publication that reviews celebrated games and prices them properly: every edition, every store, every way to pay.
What we do
We pick games that are genuinely worth talking about, usually the ones that top critics' lists or sell for years, and review them in depth. Then we do the part most reviews skip: we work out what the game costs a UK player across the stores that sell it, which payment methods each store accepts, what the subscription route saves you and what your rights are if a purchase goes wrong.
There are 12 full verdicts on the site today. We would rather cover fewer games well than many games thinly.
How we work
Reviews are researched and written by the editorial desk from published evidence: publisher material, store listings, patch notes, the critical consensus and consumer-law sources. The methodology explains how the two scores are built and what we will not claim.
How we are funded
We are not funded by publishers, platforms, stores or payment companies. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored reviews and no advertising in the body of any review.
