Who is responsible

What we collect

If you only read the site: our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the site running. We do not run analytics, advertising tags or social media pixels, and we do not build profiles.

If you write to us: we receive the name, email address and message you send, and use them only to reply and, where relevant, to correct the site.

Our lawful basis

Server logs: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Messages: our legitimate interest in answering you and keeping the site accurate.

How long we keep it

Server logs are rotated by the host, normally within 30 days. Messages are deleted within 12 months of the conversation ending unless they record a correction we need to keep.

Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data. Our hosting and email providers process it on our behalf under contract.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it, by emailing desk@verdictandvalue.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
