Paying at PlayStation Store from the UK
Sony takes more ways to pay than any other console store in the UK. Its refund rule is the one to understand before you press download.
Accepted payment methods

The wallet
Only adult accounts have a wallet; child accounts spend from the family manager's wallet. Once money is added it cannot be refunded and a top-up cannot be cancelled, so add only what you plan to spend. Sony's UK pages do not state top-up steps or a maximum balance.
Refunds
You can cancel a game or add-on within 14 days of purchase, but only if you have not started downloading or streaming it, unless it turns out to be faulty. Season passes follow the same logic for their contents. In practice this means that the moment a download begins, a change-of-mind refund is off the table.
Refunds are paid to the wallet. A chargeback suspends the account, and if Sony finds no lawful reason for it the account stays suspended until the amount is repaid.
Pre-orders
Sony charges the full price as soon as you pre-order. If you paid more than 14 days before release you can cancel at any time before release; if you paid within 14 days of release you can cancel within 14 days of paying. Either way the right ends once the main content starts to download, including an automatic pre-load, so turn off auto-download if you want to keep the option.
Family spending limits
Accounts for under-18s cannot add cards or wallet money. They buy from the family manager's wallet up to a monthly spending limit that starts at zero and can be changed on the web, on PS5 and PS4, or in the PlayStation Family app.
